MTB Facts respects your privacy and is committed to handling data responsibly.
This page explains what data MTB Facts uses, why it is used, and the choices you have.
MTB Facts may update this Privacy page as the product evolves. When updates are made, this page will be revised to reflect the current approach.

MTB Facts (“we,” “our,” or “the App”) is a mountain bike maintenance tracking application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how data is used.description

With your permission, MTB Facts may access limited data from Strava in order to provide maintenance tracking and insights. This data is restricted to what is necessary for the app to function.
This may include:
Ride name
Ride type (e.g. MTB, e-MTB)
Activity time
Distance
Elevation
Associated gear name (if available)
Recording device name (e.g., “GARMIN Edge 530”, “Strava iPhone App”)
This data is collected via the Strava API when you connect your Strava account to MTB Facts.
MTB Facts does not access:
GPS maps or routes
Segment data
Heart rate or biometric data
Social or follower information

The data accessed from Strava is used only to:
Track ride time and mileage for maintenance calculations
Associate rides with bikes and components
Display your personal ride history inside MTB Facts
Display device attribution (e.g., “GARMIN Edge 530”) as required by data provider guidelines
Your data is used solely to power features within MTB Facts and improve the product experience.

Your data is visible only to you.
MTB Facts does not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.
Data is never shared publicly or with other users.
Future features may allow optional sharing within a family or household garage, but this will be explicitly opt-in.

Ride data pulled from Strava may be stored in MTB Facts in order to:
Maintain service history
Prevent data loss
Allow continued use of the app if Strava is disconnected
You can disconnect Strava at any time. You may also request deletion of your stored data.

Activity data from Strava is cached temporarily to reduce API calls and improve performance. Cached activity data is automatically deleted after 7 days. If an activity is deleted on Strava, it will be removed from MTB Facts within 48 hours during the next sync.
Your reviewed rides (bike assignments, maintenance calculations) are stored persistently to maintain your service history.

You can:
Connect or disconnect Strava at any time
Request deletion of your MTB Facts data
Control how your bikes and rides are managed within the app

MTB Facts takes reasonable measures to protect your information and limit access to authorized systems only.

When you connect MTB Facts to Strava, Strava may monitor and collect usage data related to your use of the Strava API. This data may be used by Strava for purposes including platform improvements, developer support, and compliance monitoring. For more information, see Strava’s Privacy Policy.

As MTB Facts evolves, this Privacy Policy may be updated. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
